
Current Events:
- October 5: Kick-off and Panel discussion, 6:00 pm, Dreese Lab 480: As the first event of the new year, it is a perfect time to reconnect with old friends and to make new friends. This will be a good time to ask questions about computer science classes from current students and enjoy some free pizza! This will be in a panel discussion format, but experienced students are encouraged to share their comments as well. Please be aware that the room has changed- this is now in DL 480.
- October 10:Rondell Honcoop from Microsoft, 8:00 pm, Campbell 200: Rondell is a recruiter and he will talk about opportunities at Microsoft for internships and full time positions. He will be at the Engineering Career Fair as well. Pizza will be included.
- October 11: Hussein Frosh from Harris Corporation, 5:30-7:30, Dreese Lab 317: Hussein is an OSU graduate in CSE and he will give a talk on cloud computing. He will also be at the Engineering Career Fair. Pizza will be included.
- October 12: Engineering Career Fair: There are a lot of companies here, recruiting for summer internships and full time positions for graduating students. The website gives information on companies, what majors they are hiring, and information on how to prepare for the fair. (This is being hosted by Engineering Career Services, and CIS majors should also attend!)
- November 9: Ohio Supercomputer Center tour: Tours are free, but they require a minimum of 5 people, and we must register ahead of time. If you're interested, please email Amanda Kauppila by October 24.
- October 12: Geospatial Technology: How open source software is making mapping possible for anybody. Using freely available software and data, it's possible today to make maps that are more detailed and useful that what's provided by popular mapping sites like Google Maps, MapQuest, and Bing Maps.
